Cedar Valley Pridefest urges our friends, family and neighbors to get out and vote in the Waterloo and Cedar Falls Mayoral and City Council elections, as well as the rest of the Cedar Valley.
We believe that it’s our responsibility as active members of this community to participate in municipal elections. These city officials tirelessly represent each and every Waterloo, Cedar Falls and area resident. As proud citizens, it’s our responsibility to elect officials that accurately reflect the will of the people.
In this election, we encourage you to specifically consider voting for candidates on the Waterloo ballot who have supported Cedar Valley Pridefest. Each of the elected officials will help determine the fate and funding of Cedar Valley Pridefest 2014.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Your vote matters in local elections. In 2011, the previous Waterloo mayoral election was determined by 50 votes, according to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier.
What you need to know to vote
To find your precinct and voting location, visit the Secretary of State’s website and enter your zip code and address. If you’re registered to vote, all you need to do is show up. If you’re not registered, you will need a photo proof of identity and residency to vote. Your driver’s license, ID card, U.S. passport, U.S. military ID, employer ID card or student ID from an Iowa high school or college are all acceptable as proof of identity. If your photo ID does not contain your current address, you can use a residential lease, utility bill (including a cell phone bill), bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document as a proof of residency. If you cannot provide these identification documents, another registered voter from your precinct may attest for you. Both you and the attester will be required to sign an oath swearing the statements being made are true. Falsely attesting or being attested for is registration fraud and a class “D” felony, punishable by a fine of up to $7,500 and up to 5 years in prison.
